Band for award shows & gala dinners — one evening, one musical arc

An award show is not a party with better food. It carries a programme: reception, dinner, awards, speeches, the highlight moment — and then the dance floor. The band has to work within that structure, not against it.

The award moment

This is where music either carries the evening or gets in the way. We are prepared for:

  • Walk-on, walk-off & stings

Music for winners walking to the stage and back, short musical stings for name announcements and applause.

  • Silence on cue

On the host's signal the stage is silent at once — no fade, no ringing out.

  • Show control, host, run-of-show

We play to your running order and agree every cue with show control and host.

  • Seamless transitions

Between speech, award, playback and dinner the music carries on instead of leaving gaps.

Reference: VCI gala

For the VCI (German Chemical Industry Association) we played a gala dinner with an award ceremony — accompanying the entire evening, from reception through dinner and awards to the party.

Further galas: the corporate gala for FIFA in Zurich and the anniversary gala for 100 years of Stahlgruber in Munich. How our clients describe these evenings can be read in the testimonials on our home page.

Dinner and reception

During reception and dinner we play in a reduced line-up at conversation volume — never competing with the room. The band only becomes the main element once the formal programme is over.

After the awards: the party

From the moment the last award is presented, the evening belongs to the dance floor. That is when the full band plays — on request with a DJ hand-over for the late hours.

Line-ups

  • Reception & dinner line-up

Reduced and acoustic — for reception, dinner and conversation-friendly programme parts.

  • Full band: 7–10 musicians

Multi-part vocals and horns for the awards and the dance floor.

  • Add-ons

On request dancers and VJ with visuals matched to the ceremony, from our artist pool.

Frequently asked

How much does a band for an award show or gala cost?

For an award show or gala, a professional live band typically ranges from around €6,000 to €25,000 net, depending on line-up and playing time. Travel and accommodation are shown transparently in the quote.

Can you play walk-on music for award winners?

Yes. Walk-on and walk-off music and short stings for name announcements and applause are part of the format. We agree the cues together in advance.

Do you work with the host and show control?

Yes. We play to your run-of-show and agree cues, stings and host hand-overs in advance with show control and host.

Do you also play during dinner?

Yes, in a reduced line-up at conversation volume. For the party we switch to the full band.

Can you stop instantly when the programme requires it?

Yes. On a signal from host or show control the stage is silent at once. We agree the signals in advance.

How big is the line-up?

From a reduced reception and dinner line-up to a full band of 7 to 10 musicians. On request we add dancers or VJ from our artist pool.

Do you bring sound and lighting?

We bring concert-standard backline, in-ear monitoring and our own sound engineer. PA and stage lighting are coordinated with the venue or production. On request we bring the complete system — we calculate this in the quote. For award shows we additionally coordinate with show control and host; stings and cues are agreed in advance.
